The Keyfob has the model number DS-PKF1-WE and is often attached to a keychain to enable easy, and quick, switching of the system on or off without a cell phone.

Range from the Hikvision Hub

The range from the Keyfob to the Hikvision Hub is 900 meters in open field. If the wireless signal is intentionally disrupted it will be notified immediately via the Hik-Connect app on your smartphone. The Hikvision wireless signal is called Tri-X, and operates on 2 different frequencies in the 868mhz band and has AES-128 encryption.

Connecting to the Hub

All Hikvision products are easy to pair. Signing in is done with a QR code on each device. Put the Hik-Connect app in Enroll mode and you can start adding products by scanning the QR code in the app.

Advantage of a Keyfob

The advantage of a remote control over the LED Keyfob is that when you use a remote control, you don't lose unnecessary time to detect burglars. This is because you always mount a keypad inside the house, and the room where this keypad hangs in combination with a motion detector cannot immediately sound the alarm, otherwise you yourself would not have the time to use the code to deactivate the alarm upon entry. A turn-off delay time of 30 or sometimes as much as 60 seconds is often chosen. All that time there could also be an intruder in that room without the alarm sounding.

With a remote control you turn off the alarm even before you approach or enter the house. Therefore, the rooms in the house do not need a delay time to go into alarm. As soon as someone puts one foot in the room, the alarm will sound, and that, of course, is best. This is only possible when using a remote control and not a keypad.

A keypad is recommended, however, for companies or very large families, for example. With a keypad, not every family member or employee has to carry a remote control, but entering the correct code is sufficient. This prevents an employee from forgetting his remote control for whatever reason, for example, and could not go to work as a result. With the code in his memory, anyone can always turn the system on and off.
